Elegant in its simplicity, yet striking in its dominating size, the Florida Vietnam Era Veterans’ Memorial reflects the true symbol of sacrifice for country understood by those who serve. This 15×28 foot American Flag suspended between 40 foot gray granite pylons commemorates the 1942 Floridians lost including 83 still missing in Southeast Asia. It also honors all of those who served and returned changed by the war. As a tribute to those still missing, the flag toured every county of the state from Key West to Tallahassee on a journey lasting 83 days prior to being raised between the pylons.
